Library Director, Fuller Public Library
The Trustees of the Fuller Public Library in Hillsborough, New Hampshire seek an innovative, dynamic, community-minded leader with proven management skills to serve as Library Director. The position is for 34 hours per week and includes vacation, holidays and sick time, and health and retirement benefits through the Town of Hillsborough.
The Library Director reports to the Board of Trustees, and has the oversight of all staff members. The Library Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of library operations to ensure it effectively meets the cultural, educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community. Duties include supervision of staff, budget planning and operation, management and reporting, technology planning and implementation, collection development, overseeing the maintenance of the building and equipment, and working with Hillsborough town officials, officials of other towns served, and others in the community.
The Library is an active community center providing services to townspeople of all ages and interests, from preschoolers to senior citizens. Programming includes, but is not limited to, preschool story times, book clubs, activities for children and adults, reading challenges, and community events.
Qualifications: The candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school with at least four years of progressively responsible library experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. The candidate must also have computer literacy.
An MLS or current enrollment in an accredited library program to be successfully completed within six years of hiring is highly desirable, as are proven experience in budgetary and personnel management.
