The Palmer Public Library seeks an adult services librarian to organize & publicize programs, and to oversee reference and reader’s advisory services. The position requires excellent computer skills to help patrons use the library’s digital resources on a wide variety of electronic devices. The position also serves the library’s activist agenda, reaching out to people and organizations in all the villages of our town. There will be opportunities to collaborate with other library staff on regular and special projects, including creation of print and electronic newsletters & email marketing campaigns, and website redesign.
Hours: 35 hours per week, including one evening per week and occasional Saturdays.
Requires an American Library Association-accredited Master of Library Science degree.
Preferred qualification: 1 year of library experience with a focus on public service, including reference services and programming.
Salary: $19-20 per hour; full benefits as a Town of Palmer employee. This is a bargaining unit position in AFSCME Local 1364.
