The Lewiston Public Library is looking for an outgoing and assertive individual with excellent customer service and technology skills and experience working with teenagers to work in the Adult & Teen Services Department.
The Lewiston public Library is constantly evolving to meet 21st century information and research needs, so the ideal candidates will be a lifelong learner who enjoys acquiring new skills. This position is responsible for coordinating library services for teens and continuously developing the Library’s teen collection and programming. Must have the ability to plan and present programs and design promotional materials and to develop a good rapport with teens, so strong written and oral communication skills, energy, initiative, patience and assertiveness are desired. Duties may also include assisting library members of all ages locate and utilize resources and information.
Associate’s degree in Library Science or related field is required (Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 credit hours in Library Science preferred). Applicants should possess a high level of computer literacy, reference and information discovery skills, and the ability to manage their time while multi-tasking. Other requirements include: working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, quickly learn library policies, procedures and software; to work well with library users of all ages and diverse backgrounds and to work cooperatively and supportively with colleagues and community partners. Familiarity with and interest in reading, literature, eBooks and/or mobile devices is preferred.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours weekly; hours vary, with some evenings and Saturday work required. Starting pay is $17.48 per hour.
