The Nesmith Library of Windham, New Hampshire, invites qualified individuals to submit applications for the position of library director.
Appointed by an elected board of Library Trustees and under its general direction, the library director will provide leadership to oversee all library services and resources supporting the community of Windham, NH. We are seeking candidates who are able to proactively develop, enhance, and maintain all aspects of the library.
The successful candidate also will serve as an ambassador advocating and promoting the library’s mission by demonstrating enthusiasm, creativity, innovation, and an understanding and respect for the needs, interests, and demands of the community. We are looking for a progressive-minded person with current experience in administration, leadership, and management (in a library or similar setting). The ideal candidate would have previous experience with strategic planning, budgeting, facilities management, and a demonstrated working knowledge of modern library policies, practices, technologies, and emerging trends and issues.
Qualified applicants will have an ALA-accredited graduate degree in library and information science (MLS or equivalent) and eight years of library administrative experience, including at least four years in a supervisory capacity. This is a full-time, exempt, non-bargaining position. Full time is 40 hours per week as scheduled and includes regular evening meetings and occasional weekend hours. The library offers compensation commensurate with the experience and qualifications.
