To encourage first-time attendance at the NELA Annual Conference and membership in NELA, NELA offers its members the opportunity to make first-time conference attendance possible with annual scholarships which are awarded annually to up to six NELA members representing each New England state.
Any New England library employee or full-time library school student who have not previously attended the Annual Conference are eligible, with funding from the Educational Assistance Fund. Applicants cannot have been the recipient of any other NELA scholarship, bequest, or grant in the past 12 months.

Continuing Education Grants
This grant provides a subsidy of up to $1,000 for 50% of the cost of workshops, courses, institutes, seminars and other study opportunities not leading to a degree for personal NELA members working in or involved with a New England library or library association, including trustees, volunteers, and friends.
Applicant cannot have been the recipient of any other NELA scholarship, bequest, or grant in the past 12 months. Applicants can apply for multiple continuing education opportunities, but there is a maximum of one award per applicant. The award may subsidize up to 50% of the cost of the continuing education opportunity.
Grants are approved by the Executive Board which meets in January, March, May, July, and September so please factor those dates in when applying. The application must be submitted at least eight weeks prior to the program and is available online.
