Academic Partnerships at All Levels

Presenters: Camille Moore, Ellen Hall
Sponsor: Academic Librarians Section (ALS)
Schedule: Tuesday, October 18, 2005; 10:30 - 12:00

Program description: Academic libraries are increasingly reaching out to their communities and forming collaborative partnerships with public and school libraries and even local historical societies. In this ALS program, Camille Moore from Eastern CT State University describes her library's "One Book, One Region" project that included school and public libraries in addition to the college. Ellen Hall from Norwich University in VT discusses the Historical Society Innovative Work Plan. The college and the local historical society work together to provide short-term professional curatorial assistance for the rich collections the society maintains, but without permanent staffing.
