The Trustees of the Bushnell-Sage Library seek a leader for its well established, much appreciated small library in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. As part of an active rural community, the library is a focal point for all ages and a source of information, education, and culturally enriching programs for the residents of Sheffield, MA and surrounding areas. Located in a highly sought-after geographic area, with easy access to the diverse cultural venues of the Berkshires, this position is an excellent next step for both personal and professional growth. The director manages all library operations assisted by an excellent staff.
The applicant must be an excellent and confident communicator with a professional yet friendly approach. Collaboration with stakeholders is expected as is creativity and initiative.
A master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program is strongly preferred along with a minimum of three years of experience including supervisory experience. If the applicant does not have an ALA MLS, a Bachelor’s degree and five years of progressively responsible experience is required, including library and supervisory experience.
