NELA Mentoring Program
The New England Library Association's Executive Board recommended the development of this program in 2008 based on interest from member and 2007-conference attendee feedback. The purpose of this program is to facilitate relationships between professionals and peer counselors and role models and create career enrichment activities for participants. This program is open to all. NELA membership is not required. The program is designed to provide mentoring opportunities of diverse needs with volunteer mentors from various library fields and geographic locations. Participation in this program is completely voluntary and any party for any reason may terminate relationships. To start working with a mentor, we suggest you review the following mentor list and contact a volunteer mentor. Both mentor and mentee must be upfront and clear with each other about their availability and desired goals. Even if this professional relationship may not be confidential, remember that personal information shared by participants should be considered confidential. Mentor volunteers or those with questions, suggestions or concerns with this program please contact membership@nelib.org. Mentor Lists: |
