NERTCL (New England Roundtable of Teen and Children's Librarians)
Who We Are
We are librarians from all over New England who are dedicated to providing continuing education programs for librarians working with children and young adults through conferences and workshops. We sponsor the youth programs at the NELA Fall Conference and host an annual Spring Symposium comprised of a panel of children's and teen authors and/or illustrators. We also host the Jordan Miller Storytelling Workshop on alternate years with the Massachusetts Library Association. At our meetings we exchange news of library events and programs throughout New England so we all benefit from the ideas and experiences of our colleagues.

History
The New England Roundtable of Teen and Children’s Librarians began in October 1906 when Alice M. Jordan invited thirteen area librarians to meet in the Children’s Room of the Boston Public Library to exchange ideas about their work. Since then, the Roundtable has expanded its membership to encompass all six New England states as part of the New England Library Association, with the objective of promoting Youth Librarianship both within the library profession and to the community at large.
