With this change comes a new address and contact information for NELA: Ballots coming soon August is the time of year the Nominating Committee and the Executive Board present a slate of officers. Very soon you should receive your ballot in the mail. Information about the candidates will be on our website at www.nelib.org/candidates. Please check the candidates' information and send your ballot back. Elections are always important and a chance to have a direct voice in the organization. It Came What came? The Program Brochure for our fall conference, Taking Charge of Change. You should have received your paper copy of the Program Brochure in mid-July. If you haven't received it, contact Mary Ann Rupert and she'll check the membership database and your address. You can also go directly to the information at http://nelib.org/conference. Shhh! It's a Silent Auction (Would librarians have a noisy one?) NELA needs your help. A silent auction is planned for the Annual Conference as a fundraiser for the NELA Educational Assistance Committee, which provides scholarships and grants for library education and supports the library leadership program, NELLS. Please look around for any items you care to donate; hit those closets, bookshelves, secret hiding places, etc. and keep our auction in mind. More details coming in September's NELA News and on our web page http://nelib.org Congratulations Melody Allen - Emerson Greenaway Award Recipient At the Annual Conference banquet we will recognize Melody for her distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the library field in the New England region and present her with the Emerson Greenaway Award.
